in ear monitors 1 Year, 6 Months ago
Hi,
I'm a singer and my band consists of electric guitar, electric bass, keyboards and drums. Anyone have any advice on which would be the best in ear monitor to use so I can hear myself over these guys??
Thanks!

Seetaa,
Look into the Shure PSM200 in ears. They are the least expensive of the Shure line that I can recommend. It has plenty of gain and is stereo, meaning you can put one signal in one ear and a second in the other ear if you want. If you like them, I highly recommend taking the unit and having custom inserts made for your ears. The foam tips and rubber tips that come with it work fine but if you are going to have these in your ears for 3 sets a night, the comfort level goes way up with properly fitted inserts. The PSM200 system goes for about $600 or so. Well worth the cash. They make a wired unit and a wireless unit. The wired units are about $350. go with the wireless, no need to tether yourself with your in ears! That and a nice wireless mic and you are free to go where you want.

If you can afford them I don't thinks there's a better option

www.ultimateears.com/_ultimateears/store/custom/index.php

they range from $399 to $1150 or something around that plus your visit to an audiologist.
