Looking into the free lesson available here, I got to thinking about notes and where they belong on the fretboard. If I start with the first string open I would get high e which would be the fourth space on the treble staff. I then would put my finger on the first fret of the first string to get f. That would be the fifth line of the treble staff. The second fret of the first string would be f sharp or g flat. The f sharp would still be on the fifth line and the g flat would be on the fifth space of the treble staff. The third fret of the first string would be g and would the note go on the fifth space?
I guess the big question is if I play the second string fifth fret would that be high e such as the first string open? would that second string fifth fret be e of the fourth space on the treble staff? What about the third string ninth fret? Would that be high e also? That would be the fourth space of the treble staff, correct? the fourth string fourteenth fret would also be high e of the fourth space of the treble staff, correct? The fifth string nineteenth fret would also be high e fourth space on the treble staff according to my calculations. Then the sixth string twentieth fret would be high c which would be the third space of the treble staff.
If my calculations are correct, then I would know where all the notes go on the treble and bass clefs. Somebody help me out. Correct me if I am wrong.
