Hey you guys,

I own a roland fantom x8 and I'm just setting up my home studio, so i was wonder if I can use this keyboard as my midi controller to play software instruments, or if I have to use an other keyboard like a M audio, please if anyone knows let me know I appreciate it.

you can use this keyboard's usb or midi output to control soft synths. if you dont have an audio interface with a midi input use the usb. if you do have a midi input it would probably be easier since you wouldnt have to worry about drivers etc.

I have a Fantom X too, don't you just love it? MIDI is MIDI so just select "FantomX USB" in the MIDI configuration of your software and turn the volume down all the way so you know what sound the software is making.
