After you've prepped your mind and body, take a few things into consideration, backstage can be a great networking hub, whether it be a small club or big festival. I have noticed however, at the big festivals, you have alot of company reps who have been invited by their artists. To come hang out, bring new gear and most importantly (to me)bring their family and enjoy the sound of the gods, Music. Anyway, Who are these representatives? you may ask. EVERYBODY you want to know. Fender, korg, MusicMan, Akai etc. These people are very important to the industry, and musicians are important to them, because the great musicians take the products around the world in a real time advertisment. Encouraging consumers to buy and setting the trend of 'what is' the industry standard of the time, which seems to change overnight these days
.grasp this concept of scratch my back, i scratch yours between companys and musicains. Dont forget to practice so companys even get interested, it all comes back to you.
There is also knowledge galore backstage, if yu think yu bad, there is ussually always somone backstage who is 'nastier' than you
you should say hi to, in jamica we say hail up, or pay respects. This all boils down to meeting people and knowing the players backstage, Not the groupies , WAKE UP!!
