Licensing music for Indie/no budget films 6 Years ago
I am a composer/performer and several of my recordings have been chosen by an indie documentary film producer (her first film). Does anyone have a sample contract for free festival use of my music, but some sort of payment if she sells the film? It would be better to be able to spell out some sort of arrangement now, rather than put in that we will renegotiate - makes it simpler for her to sell distribution (hopefully this will happen!)
Thanks for the help!

Sorry for the late reply, maybe you could you this for future reference.I write this only to serve your interest and not to cause any problems.
I have done a couple no-budget films and it's always the same old same old. They have no money and tell you that it's for a school project or that it's going to a film festival, but then they give you a sample contract that gives them the right to show their work worldwide.
Please go to this link www.entermainentpublisher.com and for a small price ($100.00) you will be able to print out legal contracts for all your musical needs.

Hi Mer,

Were you able to track down any sample contracts? I am curious because I come from that other side - the newbie filmmaker - who'd like to get some good contracts for a composer if I need one.

Thanks in advance for any info.
