TOPIC: Are the Berklee courses worth the money?
#26558
Re: Are the Berklee courses worth the money? 5 Months, 1 Week ago
hi Clint

i am thinking of doing the Music Production and Technology master program also in an effort to change my career. With the skills learened in this string of courses and also with the certificate itself is there plenty of opportunity to find work. Hoow is your career in music progreessing after completing the certificate? (I hope you don't mind me asking...it would be a very dramatic career change for me, albeit a very fulfilling one, so I am trying to find out if I will just learn alot of great stuff and then use it at home or if I would/could truly be able to find work on the back of what has been learned.

tks

Guy

I am in the Masters music business and songwriting cert program and I only have one class to go. I have to say that the info and connections you get through taking these courses are second to none. I have made friendships and gained knowledge that I need in order to succeed as a musician. I even know enough now that I will be having a cd come out (late 2009/early 2010) under an indie label. The wealth of info that you get in incredible and worth every cent. If you are on the fence about taking the courses....just do it. It is definitely worth it.

I'll echo Corey's response. These classes are well worth it. The courses are well laid out and as you move through multiple classes you will get a sense of how they all interconnect. The amount of knowledge gained is tremendous.

Hi Scott and everyone else

I still can't decide and feel the need for more Information before I enroll.
My direction is also like yours, Production and Guitar Master Program or as an alternative the Guitar Master Program - additionally specific chosen Production courses (like desktop Production on Mac) maybe.

The first thing I can't decide is if its more logical to go for specific courses and take them selectively or just taking a master course and don't bother for anything else.

I want an intense guitar course and improve also on desktop music production (pro-tools, logic-pro). It seems like taking a guitar certificate program (master) and adding single production courses fits more my direction. What do you think of combining separate courses with a certificate programs?

I want to change my career path (already quit my job and have plenty of time now) and start a new career in music, so in my search for a way to accomplish my dream I found my self here.

Thanks,

Burak
