TOPIC: Some Chords for Chords 101
#7017
Some Chords for Chords 101 4 Years, 1 Month ago
I am going to take Chords 101 next semester and would like a heads up on some of the more important chords so I can better prepare myself for the class. Any information would be cool.

thanks,

Rob

If it's for guitar

Buy the Berklee method book #1
There's no possible way for anyone to tell you which and correct fingerings here.

Now they even have a DVD with it. ( I believe )

I am taking the course now. It is a lot of fun.

As of week 7 we are doing what Berklee calls drop-3 chords. We did drop-2 earlier in the semester. Some of the fingerings are difficult. Try the dominant 7 on strings 1,2,3 and 5. A C7 for example is G(1) E(2) Bb(3) C(5). IMHO the pinky stretch to E (2) is pretty tough.

The instructor is very knowledgeable but seems too busy to really do the course. Be prepared to work on your own Good luck and have fun.
