To Berklee or not Berklee? 6 Months, 1 Week ago
Hello all from Ireland.

I am guitar player and have gained some interest in attending Berklee. I have come to a point where I would like to concentrate on becoming a top class guitar player, primarily the blues, by successfully attending I may be able to open some doors into the music business. Its virtually impossible to do so here as in Europe pop music is leading the field.

I see Berklee come to Dublin once a year to hold some classes and audition some musicians. Does anyone know if these classes / auditions are open to all?

Berklee are going to hold some classes and auditions around this time next year, which will give me the time to prepare, I would really like to impress the socks off them and hopefully receive a scholarship.

Do to so I will have to put in some hard time and really step it up, but will it all be worth it?

Many thanks, RC.

I think you've got the answer for your last question. Don't undermine your personal efforts, because as hard work is rewarding for perseverant people, a musical career can be difficult without those efforts (Taking away the economical obstacles). Ultimately, what somebody else thinks does not matter, you will be the one making the decision, and remembering back at it years later, will let you cherish or hate the decision you made.
