Vocals are mixed in accordance with the other tracks you have. Best to google some tutorials or on youtube so you can visually see and hear how vocals fit into the mix on some example songs. Not sure what you mean by "mastering vocals". A master is done when the mix is complete and is the final step in audio, and includes equalizing, compression/limiting and one some occasions reverb. It's not something you would do while your mixing, it would be done when your song is complete, or even better, when an album is done, since mastering usually involves the entire album as a whole.

Hey Fernando,

This isn't so much a mixing technique..but it certainly creates a really prominent vocal! Try it out if you have time. This is a neat trick that works because of how fast sound travels, and the Haas Effect... it is much like a illusion that makes something sound bigger than it is. Make sure you have a stereo master fader controlling your main output.

1. Record a mono vocal track, create a dupicate of that track and past it onto a separate mono track.
2. Pan one of the mono tracks left, and one right.
3. On ONLY ONE of the mono tracks, add a Delay of 0.33 ms
4. If you want then send the other mono track through an effects loop to a reverb Aux track and mix it in lightly and pan to the same side as the track you are sending it to.

This techinique also beefs up heavier rhythm guitar.

how this helped!

Since each song is different, mixing in each one will be differentiated. The biggest help that you can get is to view some online forums and blogs and take a bit of advise here and a bit of advise there, attempt to learn how to approach a mix instead of a recipe formula to how to mix. Because it takes patience and ear training to get that perfect mix that you want.
