Taking Berklee on the Road with Sugarland

Meet Annie Clements • Online Student • Touring Bassist and Vocalist
Annie Clements graduated from Berklee as a Performance major in 2003, and now stays current with the industry by taking Music Business courses online with Berkleemusic. Since 2005, she has toured with country super-group Sugarland as the band's bassist and background vocalist. Between playing sold-out stadium shows and performing on national TV, Annie does her coursework on her tour bus or in dressing rooms. "I learned how I can better market myself as a musician. It helped me launch myself to the next level."

From Berkleemusic to Best Indie Band

Meet Ihor Gowda • Online Student • Artist Manager of Suzanna Choffel
Thanks to Ihor Gowda, and his Music Marketing online coursework, singer/songwriter Suzanna Choffel is touring nationally, has over 450 thousand views of her new single on YouTube, and took home the "Best Indie Band" prize at the 27th annual Austin Music Awards in 2009. Ihor's coursework helped get things started. "Applying marketing in a specific context was really new for me," he says. "We worked really hard at trying to understand in detail who the target audience was for Suzanna's music and the importance of defining her image and brand."
