Jeff Williams is an assistant professor in the Berklee College of Music's Music Synthesis department. As a musical instrument sound designer, he worked for 12 years as the Chief Soundware Engineer for Kurzweil Music Systems. Williams has produced sample libraries featuring Grammy-winning artists such as Take 6, Marcus Miller, Tower of Power, and Bashiri Johnson. Recently, he has worked extensively on Synthogy Ivory, the world's top virtual piano sample library, and preset libraries for WaveArts plug-ins.
As a composer, engineer, and producer, Williams's credits include Roosterteeth's online machinima series "Red vs. Blue" and "The Strangerhood," which are produced using the popular video games Halo and The Sims. Other corporate composition credits include GameStop, First Act, and American Express. Recent performance credits include opening slots for Parliament Funkadelic and Robert Randolph. Williams holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance and Sound Recording Technology from University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
