Financial Aid

Berkleemusic provides flexible payment plans and works with a number of educational loan providers to make the investment in your musical education as manageable as possible. Preferred loan programs with the nation's most respected banks, employer tuition assistance, military benefits, and our Flexible Payment Tuition Plans for Certificate Programs allow students the opportunity to pursue their education for as little as $50 a month.

It is recommended that students who are interested in pursuing financial aid do so well in advance of the term start dates as processing times vary depending upon the program.

For more information, contact our online Continuing Education Registrar, or call 1.866.BERKLEE (1-866-237-5533) .

Flexible Payment Tuition Plans for Certificate Programs

Students have the option of paying for their entire certificate program up front (to receive 10% off the total cost of the program) or use our Pay Per-Term plan.

  • Students enrolled in any certificate program can pay for their program on a per-term basis.
  • A one time $150 registration and technology fee will be due at the time of enrollment into the certificate program.
  • Each term’s tuition is due two weeks prior to the start of your course(s). Tuition must be paid in order to access the course and receive materials included with the course.

Non-Federal Education Loan Lenders

At this time, students cannot use federal financial aid towards Berkleemusic.com courses or programs. They can, however, use one of our preferred loan programs below. To expedite the process of applying and receiving a loan, students are strongly encouraged to only use one of the recommended loan programs below. Using a loan program outside of what is recommended could cause a student's approval to be delayed or denied. If a student wishes to choose an alternate loan program, they are asked to contact the Continuing Education Registrar for approval.

The Sallie Mae Continuing Education loan is a private, credit-based loan that is specifically designed to provide financing for students not seeking degrees and for part-time students seeking degrees. The loan can be used to cover the cost of attendance, including tuition, books, fees, a computer, and even living expenses.

Student Benefits:

  • Interest rates as low as Prime +0% with a 0% supplemental fee for borrowers (and cosigners) with excellent credit.
  • Applications can be approved and checks mailed within 48-72 hours. The tuition amount will be sent directly to Berkleemusic while any additional amounts requested go directly to the student.
  • Flexible repayment options.
  • Covers tuition and education-related expenses.
  • Students can check the status of their application online.

Important Information for borrowers

If you are unsure of your credit worthiness, you should apply with a cosigner. There are benefits of applying with a cosigner which are:

  • A potential lower interest rate and loan fee if the cosigner has a significantly better credit rating than the applicant.
  • Adding a cosigner will assist you with a loan approval and may allow the applicant to begin establishing a solid credit history.
  • After making 24 consecutive, on-time monthly payments of principal and interest, your cosigner may be removed from the loan.

When applying be sure to only choose ONE loan disbursement date which coincides with the term you are applying for. Berkleemusic cannot accept loans with more than one disbursement date. In addition, please note that you may be able to decrease your interest rate by applying with a qualified co-signer.

You MUST be enrolled in a program in order to have your loan application certified. If you are paying for your program in full the tuition amount on the loan application should reflect the 10% discount.

Note:
Sallie Mae Continuing Education Loans are private, credit-based loans and are not federally sponsored or guaranteed.
