About Gary Burton

Winner of six Grammy Awards (and 15 nominations), Gary Burton is recognized as one of the best improvisers in the jazz world and known as an inspiring educator. Burton began as a teacher of percussion and improvisation at Berklee in 1971, and continued on as the Dean of Curriculum and the Executive Vice President of Berklee before his retirement in 2003. Gary records and performs regularly.
